FitFeud's mission is to change the way people and organizations approach fitness and weight loss. We think the key missing ingredient in most fitness and weight loss programs is motivation, and we believe competition is the perfect tool to motivate people to reach their goals.
FitFeud does not endorse or critique particular fitness or weight loss products that people choose to use. However, we do believe most people focus too much on specific products and look to blame the tools when they fail to reach their weight loss and fitness goals. The reason most fitness and weight loss efforts only last a short time is because people lose motivation.
You could have an entire gym inside your home, but if you're not motivated to get off the couch and use it, it won't do you any good. Lack of motivation, not lack of tools, dooms most weight loss and fitness efforts. FitFeud is here to change that.
In short, the graphs are going in the wrong direction. Since 1980, adult obesity rates have doubled and childhood obesity rates have tripled. Yet, America spends nearly $70 billion (with a B) on weight loss products and services every year. Obviously, the system is broken.
This graphic sums up why we think this is such an important issue.

We at FitFeud think the industry has a responsibility to start helping people tackle their fitness and obesity issues long-term. We have a responsibility to not encourage people to yo-yo diet and give them products that help them achieve healthy habits and long-term behavioral change. We have a responsibility to drive results not just revenue.
